Benin Orphanage

There are many ways you can help! 

The most effective way of helping is by donating money, whether it be a one-time donation, or by becoming a monthly sponsor.  There are 2 ways of doing this, either by sending post-dated cheques in the mail, or by sending an email money transfer.  Please contact Gary at ggamb@nb.sympatico.ca for more information on sending money via email.  To send a cheque please address it to 1902 Route 845, Summerville, NB Canada, E5S 1G2 and make the cheque payable to Judy Gamble.

You could also organize a fundraiser with proceeds going towards the BeninOrphanage.  People have organized bake sales, dances, silent auctions, etc.  It's a great way to inform people about the orphanage and raise money at the same time.

Spread the word.  Even if you yourself are not able to contribute financially, spread the word.  Tell people to check this website.  You never know who it might spark an interest in.

Remember that every penny counts.  Especially when you consider how strong the Canadian dollar is against the West African Franc.  A loaf of bread may cost 40 Canadian cents in Benin, or a full, ripe pineapple may be bought for as little as 20 cents! 

Write a letter to the children at the orphanage.  Let them know that you are thinking of them.  The orphanage address is "Centre L'Orphelinat La Providence Lokossa (MONO) Benin  BP 377  Attn: Louis ADJIWANOU"

Many people are interested in sending over boxes of toys, clothes, books, etc.  Which is great, though bear in mind the children speak French, so French books are preferred and please do not send toy guns or army related items.
